Hello!
My name is Brady, and I'm working to bring meticulously designed and highly functional software to healthcare.
Current Work
I believe that a patient's health record belongs to them. They should have easy access to all their records, in an intelligible format, and the ability to control when and how healthcare professionals interact with those records. Physicians are willing, but the technology infrastructure just isn't there yet.
Over at The Well Inspired, I'm working to make this happen.
Our collective medical knowledge is growing at an ever-expanding pace, and I believe that the medical students of the future will need serious help to filter the torrent of information thrown at them in order to allow them to learn the high yield, relevant information that will make them better junior doctors.
Over at lunardawn studios, I'm working to make this happen.
Philosophy
I work to create beautiful software with an obsessive focus on usability testing & functional UX design that will enable medical professionals to bridge the gap between the traditional “paper & pen” medical care of the past and the accessible, functional, and standards-compliant healthcare of the future.
By “beautiful”, I mean software that manages to bring together usability, functionality, and aesthetics into a complete package that is a pleasure to use.
With my experience as an engineer and software developer and a medical student and future physician, I'm uniquely qualified to bring functional design and usability to healthcare.
As a medical student, my firsthand look at the current state of healthcare delivery allows me to identify areas of need where technology solutions could help us to “do healthcare better”.
As an engineer and software developer, I can see that the healthcare I.T. ‘solutions’ available in a modern hospital are woefully behind the times. In many healthcare sectors, paper & pen are still the norm. Where software is available, it is ugly, engineered to barely meet functional requirements, and designed with little attention to end user interactions. In a world where highly functional technology like the iPhone is widely available and becoming ubiquitous, why must healthcare lag behind?
Experience
I've been doing web development for many years as the one-man shop lunardawn studios.
Along with freelance web design and development, I also have experience designing, developing and marketing complete software solutions.

electionbuddy is a comprehensive software solution for running online elections, aimed toward schools, residential boards, and small- to medium-sized organizations. It was born out of years of frustration running elections for the organizations I volunteer with using kludgy computer scripts written over many years by many different people.
With the help of EventIQ to provide ongoing customer support, we've successfully run almost 200 elections in the last two years.
